To me, sting always comes off as cold, submissive and boring when interviewed alone. But whenever he is with Andy and Stuart he comes off way more likable and funny. Old or young, when he is with the other two he seems to be having more fun.

Being comfortable doesn't really result in anything great. The angst and friction is probably why they were so good. I imagine working with Gordon (I refuse to say that stupid name) would drive anyone crazy. His solo stuff is nowhere near as interesting. Stuart and Andy are really something special.

Stuart Copeland was beyond irritating. To sum up Copeland's career: he fell into Sting's orbit. Sting wrote the songs, which without, there's nothing. And yet Copeland still managed to be an unappreciative pain in the ass every step of the way.

They were #1 Group in the 🌎 1983/84 & because of Thee Egos of Sting & Stuart! They gave it all to U2
